Indiana Invader Tf First Pick Wins Rich Hialeah Laddie Futurity

HIALEAH FL—DECEMBER 26, 2011—Tf First Pick –owned by Donald Ray Jacobs, trained by Ron Raper, and ridden by Aron Hunt—broke sharply out of the inside gate, then held off the last-gasp charge of Sizzling Gold on the outside, to record a half-length victory in the $223,840 Hialeah Laddie, the richest race of the 2011-2012 Quarter Horse season at Hialeah Park.

The Laddie winner, a two-year-old chestnut was timed in :19.516 seconds for 400 yards as he recorded his fourth win in seven career outings and earned the winner’s share of $94,013 for his owner, by far the biggest payday of his career.

Bouncing off a second place effort in the December 11th trials, the Dash To First Place gelding out of Pick Your Passion by Special Project, went off at $6.20 to 1 after posting the fourth fastest qualifying time. Prior to the race he had raced exclusively in Indiana. Steve Tate bred Tf First Pick in Louisiana.

Sizzling Gold was flying on the end to finish second for owner Mary Passmore. Trained by Jackie Kirby and ridden by William Ives, he earned $40,291. The Gold Medal Jess gelding out of Strawfly Sting, by Strawfly Special, had raced exclusively in Oklahoma before heading to Florida. Mike Vaughan is the breeder. He came into the Laddie with the 10th fastest trail time.

Lil Shorta Cash outdueled fastest qualifier Count The Menace to finish a half-length back in third. The Panther Mountain colt, owned by Rodney Lane Harmon and trained by Brian Muse, earned $26,861 to boost his career mark to just under $50,000. Randy Edison was aboard the Guy Weimer bred from the Royal Shake Em mare Shakem Ur Cash.

Completing the field were Count The Menace, Volcom Jr, Mo Zoomo, Hesa Winner, Got Me A Hemi, Valiant Corona and Cash For Wagon Boss.
