Shes Jess Dynamite, Eyema Special Candy Crack 19.6 in Lassie Trials on Saturday

HIALEAH, FL—DECEMBER 10, 2011—Shes Jess Dynamite posted the top qualifying time for the $186,220 Hialeah Park Lassie Futurity Saturday afternoon, when she won the final trial by a neck over Eyema Special Candy.

The ten fastest qualifiers from four trial races will return the day after Christmas (Monday, December 26) to compete in the 400 yard event for 2-year-old American Quarter Fillies.

Shes Jess Dynamite and Eyema Special Candy post the top two Lassie Futurity qualifying times from the final trial race.

Shes Jess Dynamite picked up her third straight win while recording the top time of :19.556, defeating Eyema Special Candy, who was clocked at :19.599. The top two qualifiers from the final trial were the only two runners in the trials to crack the 19.600 mark.

Racing for a partnership of White, Heydenreich, Metcalf and Cate, the filly by first crop sire FDD Dynasty shipped in from Lone Star Park where she broke her maiden on October 8th and returned to win an Allowance effort on November 3rd. Saddled by Joseph Manucy and ridden by Patrick James Watson, she has earned $13,080 in six starts this season. The Bobby D. Cox bred filly is out of Shes Jess Special, by Mr Jess Perry.

Ray Allen Smart's multiple stakes-palced filly Eyema Special Candy finished third in the Lacio Bird Stakes and the Fl Lady Bug Stakes at Remington Park last spring after breaking her maiden in her first stat. The Oak Tree Special daughter has posted four straight second place efforts while racing at Prairie Meadows, Will Rogers Downs and now at Hialeah. She was also second in the Grade 3 Valley Junction Futurity two races back. Stacy Charette Hill trains the filly out of Eye On This Candy, by Mr Eye Opener. An earner of nearly $64,000, she was bred by Carl Pevehouse in Oklahoma.

Florida bred Ima Gator Fan won the second trial for owner/breeder J.L. Gladwell, III. The lightly raced City Place (TB) filly, out of Special Rose by Strawfly Special, is 2-1-0 in three starts this season. She broke her maiden at first asking in August at Canterbury Park and has earned $11,460.

Deer Oh Deer bounced off a big effort in her last start when she broke her maiden with a 1-¼ length win at Lone Star Park on November 3rd. The Tres Seis filly owned by Gregorio Garza Garcia followed that performance with a 1-¾ length trial win on Saturday while posting the fourth fastest time of :19:620 seconds. Saddled by Rolando Almanza and ridden by Gerardo Garrido, she is 2-1-1 in seven career starts. Andrew Gardiner bred the bay miss in Texas from the Leaving Memories mare Adorable Deer.
