HIALEAH, FL—DECEMBER 29, 2009—Jess Luci D led narrowly at each call and won a photo finish from between horses to notch her first career stakes win in today’s feature at Hialeah Park, the $20,000 added Tallahassee Stakes for three year olds.

Bred in North Carolina by Martha Hunt, the daughter of Built Jesse was a maiden only one month ago but now has won two races at the meet, earning $13,125 for her victory in the Tallahassee. She is perfect in two starts at 350 yards, covered today in 17.638 over a fast track under sunny skies for owner/trainer Tyrone Young.

Jess Luci D returned $31.20 under jockey Oscar Delgado, who came back and won the day’s final race to sweep the late Daily Double. Florida state representative Eddy Gonzalez was in the winners’ circle to make the trophy presentation.

Easily Amazed, racing for Gabriela Lechuga, finished a nose of the winner to earn $4,375. Saddled by Paul Jones, the sorrel gelding was ridden by Larry Payne.

Southern Rose Ranch's home-bred Toast To Candy was a head off the leaders in third. Donnie Strickland saddled the Toast To Dash filly with Thomas Byrd in the irons.

Completing the field were Tearful, Courvilles Buff, Royal Quick Rebel and Confection Cartel.
