Hello Everyone,

Once again FQHRA wants to thank everyone that participated and supported the first QH meet in Florida since 1991.We also appreciate your trust and patience in FQHRA as we worked through a few challenges in this first meet. Overall I think it was a very successful meet and the report from the horsemen is that they are eager to return to Florida for bigger and better meets. FQHRA will always work for the best interest
of the horsemen and we will fight for you and your money if need be. It took a lot of time and effort but we needed to show that FQHRA will always keep its end of a deal and we expect the people and tracks that we deal with to do the same.

Legislation in Florida is very close to finishing what was started last year. When this job is completed, Florida will have a bright future in QH racing with several tracks on board to eventually have a year round circuit of quality QH racing.
It will take a few weeks to do the calculations for the redistribution of the underpayment. We should have it done and your checks in the mail by the first of May. The only owners/trainers that have not received their checks besides the money for the purse shortage are the ones that have not filled out and sent in their W-9's or other required paper work.
FQHRA is a group of horsemen that stick together to work for a common goal of quality QH racing in Florida. Remember that when you race in Florida, it pays to have FQHRA represent the horsemen and to race at FQHRA represented meets because when the going gets tough, the tough get going and we will fight for you. Our track record proves it.
A special thanks to Will Fisch, CPA and treasurer of FQHRA and Toni Czaja, our horsemen's book keeper as they painstakingly work through the purse redistribution. Thanks to Duane Diderickson for being an excellent horsemen's representative at our first meet. Thanks to the FQHRA board of directors for working together to keep QH racing on track for a great future. Thanks for all the great advice from associations such as OQHRA and LQHB&O and a special thanks to AQHA for their advice and monetary support. Last but not least, thanks to Hialeah for having such a beautiful track and for providing us with the opportunity to prove to the Florida legislature that QH racing is an exciting sport with great economic development potential for the state of Florida.
The 2009/2010 Hialeah meet was just the beginning. The best is yet to come!
