Shes Jess Dynamite Gets Fourth Straight Win, Takes Hialeah Lassie Futurity on Monday

The daughter of two-time champion Fdd Dynasty went off as a slight race favorite, in the contest for 2-year-old American Quarter Horse fillies, when she defeated Eyema Special Candy by neck. Wave Corona was another head back to finish third.

Owned by the partnership of Gene White, Wayne Metcalf, Jerry Kate and H.R. Heydenreich, the brown filly completed her 400 yard task in :19.549 seconds to take home the winner's purse of $78,212. Saddled by Joseph Manucy, Monday's win pushed the fillies career record to 4-0-1 from seven starts and earnings to more than $91, 000.

Bobby D. Cox bred the brown filly in Texas from the stakes winning Mr Jess Perry mare Shes Jess Special ($104,955), who has also produced All American Juvenile winner White Or Wrong and stakes-placed Jess Courageous.

After spending an unsuccessful summer at Ruidoso, Shes Jess Dynamite broke her maiden and won an Allowance race at Lone Star Park, prior to shipping to Florida. She posted the fastest qualifying time trial on December 10th when she defeated Eyema Special Candy by a neck.

After breaking her maiden in her first career start at Remington Park in March, Eyema Special Candy has strung together five seconds in her last five starts. The Oak Tree Special filly owned by Ray Allen Smart and trained by Stacy Charette-Hill also finished second in the $229,000 Valley Junction Futurity(G3) at Prairie Meadows in September.

Ridden by Berkley Packer the black filly added $33,520 to her bankroll to move her total to $97,383. Carl Pevehouse bred Eyema Special Candy in Oklahoma from the Me Eye Opener mare Eye On This Candy.

Owned by bred by Nancy McCoy, Wave Corona earned $22,347 for her effort. The Wave Carver filly out of Corona With Ice, by Corona Cartel, is trained by Charlton Hunt and ridden by Brian Theriot. She is 2-0-4 in eight starts with total earnings of $38,071.

Completing the Lassie field were Deer Oh Deer, Ima Gator Fan, Edge Em Out, Feature Me On TVG, Coronas Blushin, Special Awards and Fly Kate Fly.
